At SummerJive, we welcome younger members of the community. However, there are legal and ethical considerations in both the ACT and NSW.

For the purposes of SummerJive, ‘minor’ means any person under 18 years old at the start of the event.

All minors must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or other adult who has been deputised as responsible for their well-being. This adult must be aware of their responsibility to the minor, and must be able to be reached on the mobile phone number that the minor has disclosed on their entry form.

Photography of minors will only be published and/or distributed with the permission of both the minor and their responsible adult. Any person distributing photos of a minor attending this event without the consent of the minor, their responsible adult, AND the minor’s parent or guardian (if different) will be considered to be in breach of the Rules of this event, unless it is required in order to comply with the laws of Australia.

Where there is an obligation to report under either the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 or the Children and Young People Act 2008 (or any superseding law of Australia), we will carry out that obligation, and support both the person making that report (as required) and the subject of the report.
